THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, CFTC, SUPPORTED THE CLARITY BILL: LEGISLATION HAD TO BE PASSED
On 11 July, Mike Selig, Chairman of the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), wrote on platform X that the encryption industry innovators and market participants needed clear regulatory expectations, and that the CLARITY Act would establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital asset regulation. Future developments in the United States encryption market will require a definitive regulatory environment, and the CLARITY Act can provide “future-oriented” digital asset regulations. If the United States wishes to remain a global encrypted currency centre, the bill is “legislation that must be passed”. The CLARITY Act aims to further clarify the division of responsibilities for regulating the digital asset market and to establish an institutional framework for encrypted asset transactions, market structures and the competence of regulators. Proponents argued that the bill would help to reduce regulatory uncertainty and promote business and capital development in the United States market. Mike Selig has repeatedly stressed the need to support digital asset innovation through clear and enforceable regulatory rules, while ensuring market security and investor protection. This statement further reflects the tendency of United States regulators to promote clarity in the rules of the encryption industry。
