United States Treasury Department Senior Digital Assets Policy Officer Tyler Williams separated from service

On 4 August, Tyler Williams, a senior official of the United States Treasury Department responsible for digital asset policy, left office as the chief encryption adviser to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and participated in the development of the Trump Government digital asset agenda. Bessent confirmed that Williams' last working day at the Treasury was last Friday. Williams joined the Ministry of Finance at the beginning of 2025 and previously served as the policy manager for Galaxy Digital and is expected to return to the private sector. At the time of Williams' departure, the United States Congress’s Digital Asset Market Clarity Act remained deadlocked. The market structure bill was hampered by differences in the ethical provisions of federal officials before the parliamentary recess in August。
