DeepSeek restarts the financing, valuing $500 billion

On 5 August, a number of traders revealed that the large model company DeepSeek had resumed a second round of financing, with a plan to raise $50 billion for the current round, with a pre-investment estimate of approximately $500 billion, and a plan to conclude the contract by late August. Several investors mentioned that the DeepSeek second round of financing had been opened at least in mid-July, but was abruptly suspended at the end of July, when a number of investors on the negotiating alternate list were informed that the plan to sign the financing agreement had been suspended. According to media reports on 26 July, DeepSeek suspended the second round of financing, one reason being that the founder of DeepSeek, Liang Wenfeng, was dissatisfied with the widespread web-based statements, which revolved around the supposedly leaked “inventory of investor-oriented meetings”. DeepSeek and the investors at the negotiating table hoped that the financing would be low-key once it resumed. At present, a number of investment institutions that had previously been actively approached indicated that they had not received news of DeepSeek's re-financing and that the passage remained suspended.
