EIP-8361, THE LATEST PROPOSAL FOR THE TAIFAF, PROPOSES TO REDUCE THE PLEDGE RATE TO ZERO BY 50% OF THE ETH PLEDGE

On 5 August, six authors, including Justin Drake, an EIP-8361, a recent EIP-improvement proposal, proposed to reduce the pledge rate to zero by 50 per cent of the ETH pledge. It is known that, at the current rate of return curve, even if all ETH were pledged, the pledge would have a floor of about 1.5 per cent of the proceeds, which EIP-8361 proposed to remove. It is known that EIP-8361 proposes “Tapered Insurance Burn” for ETH pledge distribution, the core idea being that at the end of each epoch, a portion of the reward per certifier would be deducted and destroyed by the Taicha network, with the destruction ratio increasing with the pledge ratio. The ratio of ETH to the total supply of ETH is 50 per cent, the destruction rate is 100 per cent and the rate of return on pledge is zero. In addition, in order to avoid an impact on the income of the pledge, the proposal introduced an 18-month transition period to ease the reduction in distribution. This document, entitled “Tapered Issuance Burn”, is still in draft form。
