Robinhood launched $200 million in funds to focus on Y Combinator's incubation
According to information received on 5 August, Robinhood is pushing for the listing of Robinhood Ventures Fund II (RVII) to provide a source of investment for diaspora investors to participate in the Y Combinator Seed Starter. The fund, which issues 7.6 million shares at $25 per share, is expected to raise up to $200 million and will be listed at the New York office on 13 August (code: RVII) for regulatory approval. Unlike Fund I, which was listed in March, RVII will focus on seed wheel starters — including current or former participation in Y Combinator incubators — and companies created by YC alumni. The Fund has held shares in 80 private companies, with a 2 per cent annual management fee and a 20 per cent performance increase, with a total annual cost rate of about 4.18 per cent. Robinhod himself described the portfolio as "speculative," with a "significant loss risk" and without foreclosure. The requisition window was closed on 12 August and Goldman Sachs acted as the main underseller。
