Anthropic confirms that a chip team was formed to develop a self-research chip for Claude

On 5 August, as the demand for its AI model grew rapidly, the artificial intelligence start-up company Anthropic was forming a team to design the self-study AI chip. According to a recruitment information and company statement, Anthropic is recruiting engineers to design customized chips for its Claude artificial intelligence model. In response, a spokesperson for Anthropic indicated that the company was in the process of forming an internal chip team to design a special chip for Claude, the first time that the company had publicly confirmed the plan. The speaker also indicated that Anthony would jointly design the hardware and AI model to enable Claude to “run faster and more efficiently at the scale required by the client”. At the same time, however, the speaker said that Anthony would adopt a “multichip strategy” and that hardware from the Amazon Cloud Service (AWS), Google, Inweida and AMD would continue to be an important component of the expanded calculus of the AI laboratory。
