American media: the Iranian-Oman negotiators have completed the draft of the Holmuz agreement

On 5 August, the Associated Press reported that two regional officials had disclosed to the Associated Press on Wednesday that the Iranian and Omani negotiators had agreed on a draft agreement, which was currently awaiting final approval by the Iranian Supreme Leader. These officials, who were informed of the negotiations, stated that the potential agreement was intended to serve as an interim solution to the American-Iraqi dispute over shipping in the Straits of Hormuz. They stated that the agreement reached in June this year between the United States and Iran, aimed at ending the conflict and reopening the Strait, was not sustainable. They stated that this potential agreement would pave the way for the resumption of negotiations between the United States and Iran to reach a final agreement on the Tehran nuclear programme。
