THE LARGEST 1159 BTC STOLEN ASSETS REMAIN FROZEN, AND THE COLDARD ATTACKERS BEGIN TO LAUNDER SMALLER FUNDS
On 6 August, according to Bitcoin News monitoring, Galaxy Research indicated that the largest known COLDCARD thefts involved 1159 BTCs, scattered across seven of the attackers ' addresses, and that none of the BTCs had been cashed or transferred through a mixer. The relevant BTC was stolen within 41 minutes, but approximately 600 attackers ' addresses have been marked by law enforcement agencies, exchange and block chain analysis companies. At the same time, it appears that a smaller attacker has begun to launder funds. The chain analyst tracked 64 BTCs into the Mixer, of which only about 10 BTCs initially completed the Mixer, 54 BTCs returned as a zero and were then split into the output of about 7 BTCs for further Mixing. The analysts indicated that these unusually large outputs remained easy to track, making the clean-up attempt relatively transparent。
