TeraWulf ' s 2nd quarter power lease income ring increased by 52 per cent, further exceeding the Bitcoin mining operation
On 6 August, TeraWulf ' s second quarter high-performance calculation (HPC) lease-income ring increased by 52 per cent to $31.9 million, continuing to expand its leading advantage over its traditional bitcoin mining operations. HPC lease income represented approximately 71 per cent of the total receipt of $44.8 million by TerraWulf in the second quarter, up from 62 per cent in the previous quarter. By contrast, the digital asset income ratio was roughly the same, at $12.8 million, but significantly lower than the same period last year, at $47.6 million. The company CFO Patrick Fleury stated at the press conference that second-quarter performance reflected that TerraWulf ' s financial structure was increasingly driven by long-term, contractual HPC revenue. However, the net losses attributable to shareholders in the second quarter of the company increased to almost $940 million, up from $427.6 million in the first quarter. The loss was mainly due to a valuation adjustment of $755.7 million relating to Google equity cards, which was affected by the increase in TerraWulf equity prices. TeraWulf's share price fell by less than 1 per cent after the release of the newspaper, but has risen by about 47 per cent since the beginning of the year. Overall, the company is moving from a bitcoin mine to an AI/HPC infrastructure platform, but short-term financial performance is still affected by the valuation of equity instruments and the cost of transformation。
