OpenAI requests the judge to dismiss the commercial secrecy suit for apple theft

On 6 August, OpenAI requested the federal judge to dismiss the proceedings filed by Apple. Apple accused the AI company of stealing business secrets, and OpenAI claimed that the Apple allegations were unsubstantiated. Counsel for OpenAI states that the apple complaint distorts the behaviour of the employees of the original company. The hardware executive of the ChatGPT developer acted in accordance with industry-wide recruitment norms when interviewing apple workers; the employee accused of stealing secrets was in fact a former colleague assisting apples. “It is clear that Apple's complaint was not fully investigated and proceedings were instituted on the basis of a record of conversations taken out of context and ordinary acts of stripping the background. In the words of Apple itself, this petition "is rotten from its roots." OpenAi's court file, which was presented on Wednesday night of American Eastern Time, states that “an apple should not be allowed to make up for its disadvantage in the talent market through this baseless and distressing lawsuit”. The document also noted that Apple itself had failed to integrate artificial intelligence into the product and stated that the lawsuit “disguised the bona fide and lawful conduct of former employees as a theft of so-called business secrets. In many of the cases cited, these employees were in fact at Apple's request to ensure that the work of their former colleagues could continue without the influence of changes in personnel and were intended to assist apples.”
