Senator Ro Khanna of the California Democratic Party is pushing for a resolution that he calls the Data Center Rights Act. Currently, there is widespread concern among voters across the United States that data centres that power artificial intelligence may push up utility rates. This would establish a range of power for local communities to veto the construction of data centres. At the same time, a large number of other legislative proposals are advancing intensively in an attempt to slow down the pace of data centre construction because of external concerns that it will further exacerbate already high cost of living。
