Less than a month after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iraq on 11 July, there have been multiple rounds of attacks between the two sides, and confrontations have shown signs of warming, raising concerns about the breakdown of negotiations and even the resumption of fighting. According to analysts, the current military confrontation between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to be essentially a game around the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides trying to gain more leverage for subsequent negotiations, but also with a realistic need to avoid a significant escalation of the conflict.
