President of Iran: No concessions made by the Iraqi side in the negotiations on the memorandum of understanding

On 8 August, Iranian President Pezehiziang delivered a statement on the occasion of the second anniversary of his inauguration, setting out his position on a number of issues, including the situation in the region, diplomatic negotiations and domestic politics. Pizehiziang stressed that Iran had never sought war or expansion, but would firmly defend its national sovereignty and security. He pointed out that the United States and Israel had attempted to stir up differences between Iran and its neighbours in the Persian Gulf through the recent conflict and that the United States forces had used their bases in the region to launch attacks against Iran, which had been forced to act in self-defence. At the same time, he called on Islamic countries to strengthen solidarity and trust. Referring to the recent memorandum of understanding on the Ibero-American ceasefire, he revealed that Iran had not made any concessions in the negotiations and that the ceasefire agreement, which had been originally signed by United States President Trump to ensure its implementation, had completely changed its position within less than 24 hours。
