The Government of Yemen condemns the Al-Houthi attack on the port of Moka, which endangers the safety of shipping in the Red Sea

On 9 August, the Al-Sabah news agency reported that the Government of Yemen had issued a statement strongly condemning the “terrorist attack” by Al-Houthi forces on the port of Moka. The statement stated that the hypocritical position of the Al-Houthi armed forces, which claimed that the Government was under siege in Yemen while systematically attacking ports and infrastructure, was “incontrovertiblely ironic”. The Government of Yemen stresses that the attack was “an act of war against the State, society and the national economy” and accuses Iran of providing weapons and technical support, warning that the threat has now extended to “regional and international security” and Red Sea shipping. The Government of Yemen stated that it would “take full responsibility for State and constitutional responsibility” for the protection of vital facilities and called upon the international community to take practical action to cut off the supply of funds and weapons to Al-Houthi forces, and not merely to confine itself to verbal condemnation.
