Vanguard introduced a no-threshold S&P 500 ETF to save the $3,000 investment threshold
Vanguard announced the launch of S&P 500 ETF (VOO), which has the same portfolio as its Admiral Shares (VFIAX), but saved the minimum investment threshold of $3,000 and the transaction costs charged by Fidelity of $75. VOO costs are lower than VFIAX at 0.03 per cent and 0.04 per cent, respectively. In addition, Vanguard allows for a one-way tax-exempt conversion of VFIAX to VOO in taxable accounts. The analyst noted that VOO was a more cost-effective option, particularly for investors who were not held in the Vanguard account。
