A 13.4 PER CENT DECLINE IN THE COMPUTING POWER OF LISTED BITCOIN MINING COMPANIES WAS AFFECTED BY THE COMPETITION BETWEEN AI AND MINING
With the accelerated transfer of electricity and infrastructure to AI/HPC by the listed Bitcoin mining companies, the real capacity of the following listed mining companies fell from 368.3 ETH/s in the fourth quarter of 2025 to 319 HH/s in the second quarter of 2026, a decline of 13.4 per cent in the second half of the year. Over the same period, Bitcoin ' s quarterly average capacity declined by 10.6 per cent. If the reverse expansion of Bitdeer is eliminated, the real capacity of the remaining sample mining companies falls by 21.2 per cent. According to The Energy Mag, the current contraction was driven mainly by the economic weakness of mining and the competition between AI and Bitcoin for capital and electricity resources。
