BNB Chain will launch the Pasteur fork on August 25th

BNB Smart Chain (BSC) announced that the Pasteur hard-drive would be officially on the main line at 10.30 p.m. Beijing time on 25 August (UTC time on 25 August 02:30) and that the nodal operator would have to upgrade early to version v1.7.7 of the client. The upgrade comprises three enhancements: BP-682, BP-695 and BP-675, with a focus on upgrading cross-chain security, certificationer governance mechanisms, and web-influencing capacity. Of these, BP-682 will enhance the BNB Chain cross-chain bridge certification mechanism to prevent the authority resulting from double counting of the certifier ' s signature from circumventing risks and enhancing the security of cross-chain asset transfers. BEP-695 optimizes the certifier key rotation mechanism to ensure that the old key no longer retains regulatory authority after withdrawal, while repairing potential gaps related to punishment and voting governance. In terms of performance, BEP-675 reduces the time consumption associated with double-checking transactions by optimizing block construction processes. In the BNB Chain internal QANet test environment, the programme raised the amount of throughput from 1237 TPS to 2324 TPS, and the average size of the block was increased from 4635 million to 8415 million, while maintaining 450 ms of block-out time and the 100 million Gas blocks limit. According to BNB Chain, this upgrade is mainly aimed at certifiers and block builders and is intended to provide greater capacity for the peak of the network and to promote the BNB Chain Road Map ' s goal of spam expansion in the second half of 2026。
