The Iranian Intelligence Department claims to have discovered the French termite programme, which seeks to infiltrate and interfere in Iran's internal affairs
According to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, during the course of a major case of foreign infiltration and interference, two French diplomats were found illegally at a secret meeting place, following an order by the judicial authorities to arrest two suspects. As a result of the large number of violations of Iranian law and diplomatic obligations committed by the two individuals, upon confirmation of their status, the Iraqi side will inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and hand them over to the Iranian Ambassador to France, accompanied by the diplomatic police. According to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, during the investigation of suspects and during the verification of documents found on the scene, the French side engaged in media campaigns to “pre-emptively” cover up violations. Preliminary investigations revealed that the relevant documents revealed a so-called termite plan involving infiltration, foreign interference and the creation of conditions for France to take action that would undermine the independence of the Iranian State, including the targeting, establishment of secret links and the formation of secret networks within and outside Iran. The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence stated that the signature of the former French ambassador to Iran had been found in the relevant contract, and that the French Government must therefore be held responsible for its unlawful and interfering behaviour and explain this “discretionary planning”.
