The Korea Export-Import Bank can provide $1 billion in loans to Canon
On Monday, the Korea Export-Import Bank announced that a $1 billion loan would be made available to the world ' s leading commodity giant, Kat, in exchange for its supply of copper to Korean enterprises. As the AI industry flourished, Korea was seeking to ensure the availability of key raw materials. This loan will be made available to Canco International, with its headquarters in Switzerland, and will be used for general operations. The bank indicated that Cain could have agreed to supply copper to Korean enterprises during the loan period, but did not disclose the details. Korea is highly dependent on imported copper, which has risen by about 15 per cent since this year, close to historical heights, as the rush of artificial intelligence data centres and the demand for electricity grows. Officials of the Korea Export-Import Bank stated that “through this financing, we will be able to ensure a stable supply of key raw materials for the supply chain of the advanced industries of Korea”
