Alphabet plans to raise $5 billion through the first bond issue in Australia
According to informed sources, as the U.S. technology giant competes to raise funds for AI investments, Alphabet Inc. seeks to issue approximately $5 billion ($3.6 billion) in bonds, which will be the first time that the company issues bonds in Australia. According to the source, preliminary price guidance could be provided as early as Tuesday and priced the following day. In an e-mail statement, New Zealand Bank, one of the underwriters, stated that Alphabet might issue bonds of up to four maturities for up to 20 years. Alphabet issued $25 billion in bonds on the United States dollar market earlier this month, and Swiss francs, pounds sterling, euros, Canadian dollars and Japanese yen bonds respectively in 2026.
