SpaceX plans to build a $100 billion starship launch base in Louisiana

On 26 August, SpaceX planned to build a $100 billion starship launch base on the southern coast of Louisiana, adding a third launch site. The base, located on Pecan Island, covers approximately 125,000 acres, and plans are under way to build five launch complexes, 10 transmitters, and propellant production, power generation, aircraft handling and staff residential facilities. The base will assist SpaceX in increasing the frequency of launch by starships and support plans to build up to 1 million data centre satellites in the future. The ship will also be used in the future for the launch of an upgraded satellite with an orbital data centre mission to be carried out as early as 2027 and the planned launch of NASA astronauts to the Moon as early as 2028。
