On 26 August, at local time, during his visit to Iran, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Oman, Badr, stated that Oman and Iran were expected to announce concrete arrangements soon for the temporary route of the Strait of Hormuz and the restoration of safe navigation in the Strait. Badr wrote in social media that he had a “dialogue dialogue” with Iran's Foreign Minister, Aragzi, that day in Tehran. He indicated that discussions on the future management of the Strait of Hormuz and a permanent solution would continue in the follow-up phase in accordance with article V of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Badr also indicated that Oman and Iran would engage in discussions with regional partners to promote peace and cooperation and to preserve regional stability and freedom of navigation.
