Ripple Extension to Stock and Index Transactions
Ripple is expanding its institutional transactions through its Ripple Prime platform, entering the United States stock market and launching new Delta One products. On Thursday, the company indicated that the Delta One business at Ripple Prime was now on line and that corporate clients could trade in a swap for total returns related to United States listed shares, equity indices and digital assets. This service is available to hedge funds, asset management companies and other financial institutions. The launch brought Ripple Prime beyond its existing main brokering, clearing and financing services. Ripple states that customers can access these markets through a single counterparty and distinguish new business from the traditional Delta One counter. The platform focuses on liquidation and financing rather than paralleling market-based or self-trade operations. Ripple also indicated that Ripple Prime had over $1 billion in net regulatory capital and had recently completed a $275 million private collection of advanced unsecured instruments。
