Anthropic gave up $7 billion to buy MatX to explore a customized chip cooperation programme

On 28 August, Reuters reported that Anthropic had planned to buy out the initial company of the AI chip, MatX, for $7 billion, but had eventually abandoned the plan. MatX is currently seeking some $4 billion in new financing. Anthropic is currently engaged in talks with a number of chip start-ups, and plans are under way to accelerate the hardware development process of the AI model Claude under the flag by customizing the chip to reduce reliance on the British Weeda chip。
