Anthropic claims to win the Pentagon: "Close Claude is illegal and unfounded."

Anthropic won the case with the Pentagon. U.S. Federal Judge Rita Lin ruled that the Government had outlawed the designation of Anthropic as a “supply chain risk”, required federal agencies to discontinue Claude and restricted the cooperation of defence contractors. The Court found that these measures were in retaliation for Anthropic ' s public criticism of the Government ' s AI policy. The judgement was heavy on the evidence submitted by the Government, with only a four-page memorandum justifying the package of measures and the document being later than two of the three measures. The judge considered that the only real reason left for the Government was to "no trust" Anthropic and wanted to make it public. At the same time, the court clarified that the judgement did not compel the military to continue to use Claude, and that the Pentagon could still change suppliers according to law, but could no longer block Anthropic on the basis of this " supply chain risk "。
