The U.S. government has filed a formal appeal against the suspension of the new postal voting rules

On 29 August, local time, on 28 August, the Trump Government formally appealed a Federal Court decision that prevented its postal ballot from coming into effect. Indira Tarwani, a Boston Federal District judge, issued a 14-day temporary restraining order on the night of 27 August, suspending the United States Postal Service from implementing the new regulations on postal voting and holding a hearing on 3 September to consider whether to impose a longer-term ban.
