NEW YORK STATE CONSUMER PROTECTION DEPARTMENT WARNED AI ABOUT FRAUD
According to Bitcoin.com, the Consumer Protection Department of New York State warned that fraudsters were using false voices, faces, celebrity endorsements and fishing information generated by AI to package false investment platforms and encrypted money projects. Some platforms show false balances and returns on investment, even allowing victims to draw a small amount of money first to induce them to invest more. Data from the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) indicate that in 2025 144,041 consumers across the United States reported losses of over $8 billion, or 38 per cent over the same period, and a median loss of $10,560. This data covers all types of United States investment scams, not just AI or encrypted currency scams。
