The Reserve Bank of Australia consulted on the role of clearing services in the monetization market

On 3 September, the Reserve Bank of Australia issued a statement stating that the Bank had initiated a consultation on the role that the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System could play in the accounting of monetized ecosystems. The purpose of the consultation was to gather views from a wide range of sources on how the services of the Reserve Bank of Australia can contribute to the growth of the domestic currency asset market and private money while maintaining financial security, efficiency and financial stability. The deadline for consultation is 30 October. At the same time, the Australasia Bank referred to its report, jointly with the Treasury Department, that the Australian retail payment system could provide good service to households and businesses and that there were no strong public interest reasons for introducing retail central bank digital currency。
