Vance: Iran won't talk to it until it stops attacking merchant ships

On 4 September, United States Vice-President Vance held a press conference in the White House on Thursday, during which he mentioned Iran: “At least 15 million barrels of oil passed from the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. The high price of petrol was due to the fact that Iran was firing at the ship. We are taking many measures to put pressure on Iran to stop firing at ships. My advice to the Iranians is to stop acting like a madman and stop firing at merchant ships. We have many additional tools available for Iran, some of which will be used by Trump and others not. Shipping traffic in the Straits of Hormuz has almost returned to pre-conflict levels. But we will not talk to Iran unless it stops attacking its vessels. No major combat operations have taken place at this time.”
