OpenAI publishes GPT-6 Astra model, which it says is or is close to achieving AGI
OpenAI released a new flagship model GPT-6 Astra on Thursday, stating that it had made significant progress in areas such as financial modelling and engineering design. The model will initially be open only to selected institutions and subsequently to users of ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, as well as users of API and Amazon cloud services. OpenAI states that GPT-6 Astra significantly increased in computer operations, software programming, and reached its highest level in the Frontier Math Tier 1 mathematical test, the ARC-AGI 3 reasoning test and the Exploit Bench network security test. The co-founder of OpenAI, Greg Blockman, stated that there was ambiguity in the timing of the realization of General Artificial Intelligence (AGI), but that “a few years later, this milestone “may well be in this period, near this model”. GPT-6 Astra is priced at $10 per million input word and $50 per million output word, 2.5 times the GPT-5.6 SOL price. In the future, AI may shift to task-based rather than word-based fees。
