HSBC was approved to join the British digital securities sandbox

On 17 July, HSBC recently announced that it would be the first institution to be officially operational in the British Digital Security Sandbox (DSS) with the approval of the British Central Bank. HSBC Orion, its digital asset platform, will act as a digital securities trustee (DSD) in a sandbox to support the issuance, hosting and settlement of original digital bonds (including the Digital Treasury Debt (DIGIT) and corporate bonds promoted by the British Treasury and the Bank of England). DSS, which is operated jointly by the Bank of England and the British Financial Conduct Regulatory Authority, provides a regulatory environment for the testing and deployment of distributed booking techniques for the issuance, trading and settlement of securities in the United Kingdom. The British Chancellor of the Exchequer announced earlier that the first DIGIT was expected to be released early next year. HSBC Organization has so far supported over $5 billion in digital bond issuance。
