U.S. Army: Destroying Revolutionary Guard towers and weakening their ability to coordinate attacks on merchant ships
U.S. Central Command: On 16 July, U.S. forces succeeded in destroying the maritime surveillance tower at the port of Kalantari, which is part of a maritime surveillance network used for decades by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards along the coast of the Gulf of Oman to track and target merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The destruction of the tower directly undermined the ability of the Revolutionary Guard to coordinate attacks on innocent civilian crews. In addition, the strike protected the freedom of navigation of all vessels in the waters of the region, except those that attempted to violate the United States ongoing maritime blockade against Iran。
