Naver and Dunamu $9.9 billion swaps were again postponed to the end of the year and the Korean Digital Assets Act was pending

On 8 July, Naver Financial and Dunamu postponed the completion of their full stock exchange transaction until 31 December, the second extension of the transaction. This transaction, which incorporated the largest Korean encryption exchange Upbit operator, Dunamu, into the Naver financial block, was scheduled for 30 September. Dunamu disclosed the new timetable through a correction to the first submission last November, and the pending digital asset legislation and pending antimonopoly review remain the main variables. The company postponed the temporary shareholders ' meeting from 18 August to 19 November, and the shareholders ' confirmation date was re-established on 22 October. A number of government approvals are still required before the transaction can be completed, including the consolidated approval of the Korean Fair Trading Commission (FTC) for the business, the approval of changes to the first largest shareholder in Naver Financial under the relevant legislation on credit information, and the processing of changes to the record of the first largest shareholder in Dunamu under the law on specific financial transaction information. Dunamu states that progress on either of these links could further prolong the schedule and even lead to a change in the trade. Dunamu also points out that the Digital Assets Basic Law, currently under consideration in Congress, is also a realistic variable affecting the progress and outcome of transactions. At the time of the introduction of the bill, the regulatory bodies were also considering, at the same time, the application of a bank-style no-fault liability rule to the exchange, requiring the platform to pay for user losses caused by hacker attacks。
