A new institution called ETH Labs has been officially featured in the ETA. The organization has positioned itself as a not-for-profit R & D institution for the ETA network and its governance token ETH, with the aim of promoting wider access to the ETA for payment, settlement and chain applications.
Supported by multiple ecological players
In terms of disclosure, ETH Labs is promoted by a wide range of players in the ETA ecology, covering DeFi developers, wind projectors, researchers, institutional investors, and Layer2 founders. Support has been made publicly available by Tom Lee with regard to Bitmine, Sharplink and Joe Lubin, co-founder of the ETA and founder of Connsys.
According to the organization, the purpose of its establishment was to accelerate the next phase of its adoption and to address some of the key issues of current ecological development.
Etherwood Foundation shrinks in responsibilities
The emergence of ETH Labs is linked to the readjustment of the role of the Taifung Foundation in recent years. With regard to the Foundation ' s funding and staffing, community concerns had previously emerged, with a one-time speculation that the Foundation might be under financial pressure in the coming months and affecting subsequent technology upgrading arrangements.
However, Tom Lee recently denied that the issue of funding had been resolved. According to the market, this ETH Labs public appearance may have been one of the financial and organizational arrangements referred to earlier.
According to Dragonfly management partner Haseeb Qureshi, a group of foundation-related builders have moved to form a second organization to continue their ecological expansion as the ISF narrows its mandate and puts its focus back on the maintenance of its core attributes.
The new organization will focus on DeFi
According to the proponents, the ETH Labs mandate is relatively direct, including accelerating the adoption of the Taifeng, protecting DeFi ecology and promoting the use of ETH in the wider Internet scene.
However, the article also mentions that it is still unclear how ETH Labs will address more specific issues such as ETH inflation. The ETA Foundation welcomes this development, stating that ETH Labs is only one of the many organizations that have promoted networking.
At the same time, the Foundation indicated that it would continue to reduce its responsibilities and allow for more independent institutions in the next 5 to 10 years. This means that the ecological follow-up of the Taipei may move further from a single foundation to a pattern of parallel advancement by more organizations.
At the time of the publication, ETH prices had not changed much and were still running below $1700.
