A16z crypto-supported block start-up company, Story Protocol, has been renamed DATA Foundation and has shifted its focus from broader intellectual property management to AI training data auditing. The company wishes to respond to the copyright litigation and data compliance pressure faced by the AI industry by means of chain registration and encryption.
Shift to AI data audit
DATA Foundation will operate DATA Network, which will be used to record data source, authorization status, user consent history and payment information. Accompanying the launch of the Trace platform, which is open to audits and queries, generates unmistakable encryption vouchers, but does not disclose the underlying data itself.
According to the company, the publicity consisted mainly of the content of Hashi, the terms of the authorization, the record of consent, proof of payment and the time stamp. Original data remain within the data market and can only be accessed after authorized transactions.
1.1 billion records registered
The transition was accompanied by a direct integration. DATA Foundation has access to the human data market of Kled AI. According to the company, the first 1.1 billion user contributions were registered in the new network. The founder of Kled, Avi Patel, will also join DATA Foundation as Chief Data Officer and Andrea Muttoni will succeed as Chief Executive Officer.
DATA Network also integrates AI data processing project Poseidon. The project is responsible for the cleansing and scoring of human data and for operating the application of a contributor named Numo. When users submit empirical data, they receive a real-time payment for the stable currency and Kled also provides a channel for the payment of the French currency.
- Cumulative financing has reached $140 million
- The first access data is 1.1 billion user records.
- Payments are directly linked to completed transactions
Development focus shift to anti-fraud
DATA Foundation indicates that the next phase will focus on an anti-fraud agreement to confirm whether the data are true, human and original, rather than piracy or AI production. The company determined that AI laboratories would not purchase data that could not be validated.
This change of name also occurred after Story Protocol had experienced a delay in de-locking. The project received attention in February of this year for the delay in unlocking the lock, when the co-founder stated that it would take more time to build on the use of the chain.
Additional information:The company did not respond to the $2.4 billion valuation previously mentioned, but only confirmed that the cumulative financing was invested by a16z crypto on a scale of $140 million.
