The SBI Cripto announcement indicates that the company will close the Bitcoin mine under its flag on 31 July 2026 and will stop receiving new calculus contributions at that date. According to Hasharate Index, this pond accounts for about 2 per cent of the entire network of Bitcoin, and miners are required to complete their capacity migration by the deadline.

The mine is out of service at the end of the month.

The closure notice indicated that miners could continue to access the mine by 31 July, but the service would end thereafter. SBI Cripto did not state in the bulletin the specific reasons for the shutdown, nor did it disclose current real-time computing data on the mine.

SBI Cripto is part of the Financial Group of Japan. The mine was opened to the public in 2021, when SBI indicated that it would support its operation with about 1.1 ETH/s of its own means.

Mining profits continue to be under pressure.

This closure took place in the context of the Bitcoin mining profit-bearing pressure. It was mentioned that mining companies are facing declining profit margins, fluctuations in computing and rising operating costs, and that some are also shifting resources to AI infrastructure operations.

Bitcoin's all over the Internet before it fell from last October. At the same time, bitcoin prices have fallen by about 50 per cent over the historical highs of last fall, and miners ' income space has been further squeezed.

There was an attack last year.

It was also reported that SBI Cripto was linked to an attack of approximately $21 million last year. The chain investigator, ZachXBT, stated at the time that some of the signs of the incident were similar to the pattern of attacks supported by the DPRK.

Additional information:The closure notice issued by SBI Cripto does not include the above-mentioned security incident as a reason for the closure of the mine.
