Waze recently introduced a number of new features, mainly driven by Google ' s Gemini AI assistant. These updates are intended to enhance user experience and help Waze to take a more advantageous place in competition with competitors such as Apple Maps.
Personalized Navigation
First, Waze will now propose a route based on the history of the user ' s journey and urban traffic patterns. For example, if users prefer to travel on highways, the system gives priority to these routes. In addition, the user can choose to close down the individualized settings or choose a secondary route.
Motorcycle mode
Users can also chat quickly through Gemini and find their destination. Users need only click on a voice search icon to ask questions such as “Find a coffee shop now open” or “Find a parking lot near the mall”, and Waze will provide a list of options.
Map update report
Waze also allows users to report maps in natural languages for updates, such as closed roads or outdated addresses. Users can say, “The road here is closed”, and Waze sends this information to local map editors.
Finally, Waze added a “slow-interrupted” mode, which reduces voice tips during the drive and allows users to focus more on music or podcasts. The model is also global and applies to Android and iOS.
