The Solana Ecological Animation Project, Claynosaurz, has been on line for the first quarter of Amazon Prime Video. The first three series of Claynotopia microfilms, each lasting approximately 2 to 3 minutes, led the project to move further from NFT community operations to mainstream media distribution.
Three short films first.
Claynosaurz announced this progress on July 14. Prime Video covers a large number of users around the world, leaving the project no longer confined to the encrypted community and allowing for the first time its path to creating content IP around roles and worldviews into larger platforms.
The co-founder of the project, Nicholas Cabana, stated that the short content format reflected a change in the way the new IP is assessed by the streaming media platform. Compared with direct input to a full long play, the platform has begun to accept first-time testing of audience feedback with conceptual content, and the community and fan base is becoming an important reference.
From Solana NFT to animated brand
Claynosaurz was originally launched as a clay-style dinosaur animation concept at the end of 2021, and then gradually shifted to Web3 and NFT distribution paths in 2022. The team started the open preheating in March 2022, displaying 3D dinosaur animations in April and publishing 10,000 NFT programs.
By September 2022, the project was confirmed to be deployed on Solana. The team did not turn to the other block chains, despite a time of pressure on Solana ecology after the FTX crash. On 26 November of the same year, Claynosaurz completed public casting and 10,000 3D animations NFT were sold out within 3 minutes of the public sale.
NFT Original IP into Mainstream Platform
This time, the significance of Prime Video is not just the addition of a new channel. During the NFT boom from 2021 to 2022, a number of projects proposed a similar route: first, to build communities through NFT, then to expand the digital role into a game, animation, video or wider entertainment brand.
In the past few years, Azuki, Cool Cats and others have tried to extend their content, but there have been few cases in which the original role of Web3 was actually brought to mainstream media platforms globally. It was reported that Claynosaurz earned approximately $13.4 million in 2022 in casting, and since then the team has extended this IP to animated short films, Gameloft mobile games, peripheral goods and underline fans.
Continue to expand around content ecology
Claynosaurz has always seen NFT as an entry point to a larger recreational ecology, not an end point. The project team members are Sony, Disney, DreamWorks, Ubisoft, Netflix, Warner Bros., Marvel and Industrial Light & Magic, and the core narratives revolve around the fictional world “Claynotopia”.
Since then, the team has launched digital collections such as Claymakers and Clays, and has attempted to attract audiences other than NFT users through the collection of digital assets under an entity card package with NFC functionality. With Prime Video on line, its earlier proposed original Web3 IP extension began the physical landing phase.
