Base is adjusting the division of product. The company disclosed that Base founder Jesse Pollak would no longer be in charge of Base App, that the relevant product work would be returned to Coinbase and that he himself would shift the focus to the Base block chain itself, with the aim of promoting its application in the global financial settlement scene.

Pollak Wednesday in X sent a review of Base's performance over the past six months. He stated that previous strategies around the chain of socialization and creators ' tokens had not led to the growth of the intended users.
He claims that he was able to move the route forward on the basis of two judgements: that the developers would bring in the next wave of encryption and that growth would come from the new chain of original social experience. He made it clear that he was responsible for the lack of results and admitted that he was “misjudged”.
Base App returns Coinbase advance
Base, which came online in 2023, is Coinbase's Second Level of the Injecting Network, which deals in faster and lower-cost chains and provides infrastructure for eco-applications of the Injection. By 2025, Coinbase repositioned Coinbase Wallet as Base App, trying to integrate transaction, social, news, AI tools and creators into the same product.
Today, this application takes the lead back to Coinbase. Pollock states that Jordan Fish will take over the subsequent development of Base App. Fish is better known in the encryption industry under the name Cobie.
Focus shifted to three operations in the second half of the year
Pollak states that the focus of Base for the remainder of 2026 will shift to three operations: transactions, payments and AI agents. This means that Base ' s growth approach is shifting from a previous emphasis on social experience to a more direct financial and infrastructure landscape.
He also stated that Base's goal was to be a “block chain of global finance” and hoped that, in the future, larger-scale settlement requirements would be met.
