Meta reports that future spending commitments are close to $700 billion

On 31 July, Meta indicated that it had committed nearly $700 billion in future expenditures through long- and short-term agreements, covering areas such as artificial intelligence data centres and cloud computing. Meta stated in a regulatory declaration on Thursday that the company had $34.93 billion in irrevocable contractual commitments, mainly relating to third-party cloud service agreements, servers and network infrastructure. It also has an outstanding lease commitment of $34.7 billion, which has not yet been reflected in the balance sheet. Of that amount, $68 billion was added in July alone, and disbursements will begin in 2027 and 2028. These costs are in addition to the existing active lease and cover data centres, hosting facilities and “partial network infrastructure”。
