On 31 July, Tether released the second quarter of 2026, and as at 30 June, USDT distribution stood at approximately $184.6 billion, an increase of approximately $446 million over the end of the quarter, with a stable currency market share of over 60 per cent. At the end of the quarter, the company had total assets of approximately $18,77.51 billion and total liabilities of $18,36.42 billion, of which some $18,36.22 million related to the issuance of digital tokens and assets of approximately $4.11 billion were higher than liabilities. The company reduced its guaranteed loan exposure by approximately $2.38 billion, or 15 per cent, over the quarter, while maintaining 14 tons of in-kind gold, which exceeded 146 tons. Tether stated that it remained one of the largest buyers and holders of United States Treasury debt worldwide, with the number of users worldwide increasing by more than 30 million this quarter. Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, stated that, despite significant fluctuations in the gold and Bitcoin markets, USDT was fully supported by reserves.
