Solana Foundation CISO: AI is making encryption fraud more difficult

On 1 August, CoinDesk reported that Michael Coates, the new Chief Information Security Officer of the Solana Foundation, stated that the greatest threat to the encryption industry was shifting from smart contract loopholes to AI-driven social engineering and identity fraud. According to Coates, many of the sensational attacks were actually the result of operational errors at the Web2 level rather than the problem of the block chain itself. With the widespread use of AI and in-depth forgery techniques, fraud will become more difficult to identify, “care should be taken against fully fabricated, familiar voice calls”, anyone may be deceived, and projecters should build multilayered protection mechanisms. With regard to quantum calculations, Coates indicated that the Solana Foundation had developed a response strategy and stressed that the industry should implicitly protect users rather than require them to become safety specialists。
