Twenty-five states in the U.S. filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government's most recent tariff measures

On 4 August, court documents showed that 25 states in the United States had filed an action against the latest United States Government tariff measures. The Attorney General of the United States State of New York announced that 25 Democrat-led United States states had filed an indictment against the United States Government on the same day. These cantons claim that the President ' s initiative to impose the latest round of tariffs on commodities from 60 trading partners exceeds their statutory authority to levy taxes on imported commodities. According to the Attorney General, the most recent tariffs are intended only to replace those that have been rejected by the United States Supreme Court. The new tariff is so broad that it is illegal and circumvents the country-specific investigative procedures prescribed by law. (observed)
