Researcher calls Coinkite CTO or an anonymous author of LibNgU code, and RNG risks were warned before leaks were revealed

On 5 August, Bitcoin News indicated in social media that the anonymous switck account that prepared the LibNgU code might actually be CTO Peter Gray, co-founder and co-founder of Colinkite, at the heart of the COLDCARD entropy failure. According to the researchers, Gray's GPG key signed dozens of switck submissions and other identifiers appear to link the two identities. Bitcoin developer James O'Beirne stated that he had warned Coinkite, LibNgu's RNG in May 2025 that it seemed suspicious and suggested that it should be removed, but said that the other party's response stated that the problem should have been discovered. The screenshot also shows that, as early as April 2021, users had questioned LibNgu's rewrite. If these findings are accurate, this means that the engineer who introduced the code was later associated with more than 1800 BTC thefts and received a direct warning about RNG achievement more than a year before the loophole was publicly disclosed。
