Iranian official: Iran will not reach any agreement under threat

On 5 August, according to news reports by Al Jazeera citing Iranian media reports, an Iranian informed official claimed that the United States intervention and the threat of military action were the main reasons for the delay in reaching an agreement between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz. The official stated that “the main reason for the delay in reaching an agreement between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz was the intervention of the United States and the threat of Trump”. The official added that “as long as United States intervention and the threat of a military attack against Iran remain, the agreement will be postponed”.
