Warren questioned the U.S. policy on the U.S. A.I.C. chip, with two investments totalling $2.5 billion in World Liberty
On 6 August, United States Senator Elizabeth Warren asked the United States Department of Commerce to explain its policy towards the United Arab Emirates, involving the investment of Emirates-related entities in World Liberty Financial encryption projects supported by the Trump family. A letter to the Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick mentioned that one entity in Abu Dhabi had invested $500 million in January to World Liberty Financial; another company associated with the United Arab Emirates used World Liberty ' s USD1 stabilization currency to complete its $2 billion investment in encrypted exchange currency. The U.S. Department of Commerce has previously reclassified the U.S. Emirates as Country Group A:5 to allow it to obtain additional unlicensed exports, including advanced chips. The Department also indicated that the “active review” would involve applications for licences to export chips and servers to the UAE entity MGX, which had made an investment of $2 billion. Warren stated that the actions of the Ministry of Commerce had raised important questions about the possible impact of the President ' s interests in encryption operations on the functioning of institutions and national security. In June, several senators, including Warren, requested a hearing on the $500 million deal with World Liberty Financial。
