OpenAI announces that ChatGPT will get unlimited text chats
On Thursday, 7 August, OpenAI announced a series of adjustments to ChatGPT. OpenAI states that the default model for all users will be converted to GPT-5.6 Luna this week. Luna decreased by 62 per cent when it generated a response that contained at least one factual error compared to the previous default GPT-5/Instant. Free users and Go package users will have unlimited text chats. Free users and Go users will also see a new "Think" button allows users to choose a higher level of reasoning for more complex issues. For Plus and Pro users, GPT-5.6 Sol will be improved to better address “day-to-day dialogues and tasks such as quick questions, web research, recommendations, planning, writing and decision-making”. OpenAI states that: “This version of GPT-5.6 Sol can provide more focused answers, reduce unnecessary formatting, consistent tone, and reduce error rates. A new slider tool will also be added to select how much thinking the model has in response。
