Sources: Mask refused to let Ukraine use the "star chain" to attack Russian targets
On 8 August, according to information from the United States side on 7 August, Mask, the founder of Space Exploration Technologies Inc. (SpaceX), categorically refused to allow the Ukrainian military to use SpaceX's satellite Internet system, the “star chain”, to attack targets in Russia. The United States side cited information from two “closes” of U.S. former Secretary of Defense Fedorov that Fedorov had previously promoted the use of the “star chain” against Russian targets, who had tried to contact Mask through private channels, but had rejected it. “As of now, no agreed decision has been taken.” According to the source, the reason why Mask refused to use the "star chain" on the Ukrainian side was to fear a further escalation of the crisis.
