XRP Ledger proposes to introduce a private transfer function aimed at over $530 million in institutional-level currency asset markets

On August 8, according to information received, the latest version of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) software, version 3.3.0, introduced a number of upgrades, of which the "Confidential Transfers" function is designed to provide higher privacy protection to institutional users and to support the encryption of token balances and transfers, while maintaining the visibility of accounts and their type of currency. This function is mainly directed at multi-purpose tokens (Multi-Purpose Tokens, MPT) on XRPL, and the targeted applications include monetized financial assets such as funds, bonds, etc. Through encryption techniques such as zero-knowledge certification, networks can verify the validity of transactions, but do not need to disclose specific amounts. According to CoinDesk, XRPL currently has about $1.38 billion in real-world assets (RWAs), including about $845.7 million in RLUSD. In addition to the RLUSD, there are more than $530 million in monetized assets on XRPL, involving distributors such as Ondo, Vert Capital, Archax and Banco France. In addition to Confidential Transfers, Version 3.3.0 of XRPL contains five proposals, such as Batch, Sponsor, Mission Delegation and Dynamic MPT, which address the needs of institutions, such as bulk transactions, process charges, authority management and the dynamic adjustment of token attributes. However, these upgrades have not yet been formally online and require the support of the XRPL credible validation node for more than 80 per cent of the two weeks. The market is concerned about whether this privacy function will be used by institutions that have issued assets such as Aviva and Ondo in the future。
