Fractal will destroy more than 4.1 million FBs and advance proposals such as FIP-102 by halving them for the first time
On 8 August, the founder of the UniSat-supported Bitcoin Augmented Network, Fractal Lorenzo, announced that the Fractal would permanently destroy a total of 4,101,541 FBs, including the remaining FIP-101 incentives, the undistributed incentives for open testing and the ecological distribution for the second year, by the time it is expected to halve for the first time around 9 September. A draft FIP-102 proposal will be issued tomorrow to halve 50 per cent of the post-release of tokens to support the issuance of the Bitcoin home-grown online FB, reducing the Fractal block incentive to 6.25 FBs without increasing the total supply, while the FIP-103 will define a specific distribution mechanism. In addition, UniSat plans to buy $200,000 per month from the open market for five consecutive months after halving, a total of $1 million in FB, as a long-term strategic reserve, and to lock in the chain for at least five years。
